ccb123 Posted March 27, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2009 Hi, We are doing the Rays, Reef, and Rum Point excursion through Native way, I am looking to buy a camera for the excursion. What maximum depth do you reach when you snorkel? The two choices I have are 10ft or 33ft and the price difference is substantial and this is the only excursion we will be doing that will require an waterproof camera. Thank you. love-lee Posted March 27, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2009 We did this excursion June of last year and had an amazing time. We took the disposable camera's from Wal-mart and they took beautiful pictures. I would think the 10 ft one would be fine. The sand bar with the sting rays is only waist high and the other spot were we snorkeled was probably no more than 10.
funcouple6 Posted April 1, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 1, 2009 Does anyone know about life jackets for snorkeling. Possibly even adult ones? I know, I know but I enjoy looking at the fish while floating on the surface and looking at the coral I'm not too big on going down deep or sinking deep. I also have two daughters who have never snorkeled but are great swimmers here at home
love-lee Posted April 1, 2009 #4 Share Posted April 1, 2009 Yes they do provide life jackets. They were very light (not the big bulky ones) and worked great. Didn't need them for the sting rays as most can easily stand in waist deep water, but did use them at the snorkeling stop.:)
Caribbean Sunsets Posted April 2, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 2, 2009 Yes, the 10 ft will be fine. I had purchased the Kodak under water cameras for a previous trip and didn't like the quality. Maybe the store brand would have been better.:)
