philschoon Posted March 27, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2009 We are planning to hire a limo service for the 8 of us to return to LAX upon our arrival on Mariner of the Seas, Sunday morning, April 13th. What time should we request to be picked up? We're supposed to arrive at 7 AM and I realize it will take some time to get through customs, etc. Would 8:00 be about right? Thanks for your input! Hey Philschoon how come we haven't seen you over at the Mix & Mingle for the 4/5 sailing? There's a whole contingency from Michigan - perhaps you're part of that group that's already been chatting? Cruisin' Chick Posted March 27, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 27, 2009 We are planning to hire a limo service for the 8 of us to return to LAX upon our arrival on Mariner of the Seas, Sunday morning, April 13th. The phrase "supposed to arrive" should be a clue. There's always the possibilty that your ship doesn't arrive on time, or that disembarkation doesn't begin on time. Also, that is a big ship, so there will be plenty of people asking to be the first to get off the ship. We had a car service picking us up for our last cruise (we decided not to drive to San Pedro as usual because of 15-days worth of luggage), and I asked the dispatcher what time she recommended. We decided on 10am as reasonable. When it looked like that wasn't going to happen (customs and immigration started way late), I called the dispatcher and she said she'll tell the driver to circle around the World Cruise Center until he gets a call from me. I hope you didn't book a return flight before noon. Even on Sundays, the 405 traffic can hit a rough patch. And you're talking about Easter, right (which is on the 12th, not the 13th)? Holidays can mean a lot of traffic.
