Hotel/Transportation for large group in Long Beach

We have a large group cruise planned with at least 30 friends and family planned for January 2010. With such a large group we want to start planning hotel and transportation to the Carnival cruise port early. Does anyone have any advice, or experiences they have had with a large group?

For transportation, I had a great experience with Zippy Shuttle. Ken, the owner/operator is very pleasant and takes pride in doing a good job. He also had the best price of all of the shuttles that I contacted for my family. If I had to move a group of 30 around the LA area, that's who I would call.

The Long Beach Marriot might give you a good price for such a large group, and they're convenient to the port.
