Plannning an Alaskan cruise and was told that you have to be 21 to go to the casino? Is this true? I am 20 and was able to gamble on the Valor back in May.

Yukon, the gambling age on ships in Alaska waters is 21, at least on most cruiselines. That's the only place they change the age.

LOL - I wrote to Carnival a few hours ago but haven't had a response yet.

Alaskan cruises, unlike other cruises, are in United States waters for much of the cruise. The only reason I can think of the 21 year age requirement would be Alaskan law. That would be the same regardless of shipline.

 

You don't want to be in a position where the casino will take your money but won't pay any winnings.

I was on the Carnival Spirit for an Alaskan cruise last year and you had to be at least 18 to go to the casino.
