mjk43 Posted November 30, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2004 Has anyone done the St Kitts volcano hike, up to the top of the volcano, look down into it, hike back down again? Either with Princess tour or independent tour? It sounds like it might be fun but I'd be really interested in feedback from someone who has done it. Davezzz Posted February 17, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 17, 2005 We were on the volcano tour organized out of the Marriott. Takes a couple of hours to climb to crater rim and the last third is fairly challenging with many rocks. Take water! Ladies might want to take a roll of TP as there are NO facilities. Most important factor is weather. The summit is often cloud covered as it was when we climbed, which limits the view of the crater. The tours do not go into the crater contrary to some literature. The climb back down is tough. You have to keep your concentration up as there are many roots and rocks. Even with the cloudy conditions it was a good day and would be spectcular if clear.
