cruisingbooboo Posted April 4, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 4, 2009 Pardon my spelling but go to Bombera (???) it was on Rachel Ray $40.00 a day, you can look it up. It is a bakery/ diner. VERY local place within walking dist. to pier. Hope you like it as much as we did !!!
toonjie Posted April 4, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 4, 2009 Pardon my spelling but go to Bombera (???) it was on Rachel Ray $40.00 a day, you can look it up. It is a bakery/ diner. VERY local place within walking dist. to pier.Hope you like it as much as we did !!! It's La Bombonera. I'd recommend it more for a unique local breakfast experience. Try the Mallorcas! They have super-strong coffee as well that the locals drink. It's a local place, nothing fancy, but it is inexpensive and a nice authentic local experience. I would recommend Cafe Amapola for a nice lunch with view of the ocean. http://www.cafeamapola.com/ Call to make sure they are open because they are remodeling right now according to the webpage. La Barrachina is also a great lunch place because it is right in the middle of all the shopping. http://www.barrachina.com/ (Click on Old San Juan link.) Make sure you have a Pina Colada! rainforestgirl Posted April 4, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 4, 2009 . I would recommend Cafe Amapola for a nice lunch with view of the ocean. http://www.cafeamapola.com/ Call to make sure they are open because they are remodeling right now according to the webpage. Unfortunately, I don't think they will be re-opening. Last I heard, the owner got sick and there are no plans to re-open in the near future.:(

Mikensusanl Posted April 5, 2009 #7 Share Posted April 5, 2009 If you will be in Old San Juan you could go to Berrachina's. Or even to Senior Frogs!
