rome2009 Posted April 5, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2009 Has anyone walked from the port entrance to either or the Livorno and Naples train stations? If so, how long does it take to walk? I have heard that Livorno takes anywhere between 15 minutes to 45 minutes (can someone clarify), while it takes 25 minutes to the Naples train station (can someone confirm). Thanks. Biogal Posted April 5, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2009 I think you are correct as far as Naples goes. It took us probably right around 25-30 minutes to get to the train station.
Tiffany's mom Posted April 5, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 5, 2009 Yes it about a 15 walk. If you are going to Rome there is a ticket that includes both underground and bus. And it is less than the regular ticket.
Babs02 Posted April 6, 2009 #4 Share Posted April 6, 2009 We walked to Naples train station which took about 1/2 hour although the path isn't very level. We also caught the bus back as we were running late back, which stops outside the station. Both are easy to do. For Livorno we took the shuttle bus from the port then caught the bus I think it was No. 1 to the train station. Don't forget to get your ticket stamped before getting on any trains or buses. There is a hefty fine if it isn't stamped by the machines on the platform, or on the bus. It was surprising how many people were hopping off the train to do this. Whichever you do have fun, we did.:) Babs Crown Princess June 2007 Navigator of the Seas February 2008 Emerald Princess August 2008 upcoming Grand Princess May 2009

We (tried) to walk back from Livorno to the ship, didnt know where to get the shuttle and couldn't find a taxi. Seemed a good idea at the time. It's a nightmare of a port really industrialised, heavy machineryetc . We were eventually given a ride by a port official who felt sorry for us ( we ended up across a dock from the ship but couldn't walk to it because of fencing.) Dont walk!!!! Take the shuttle to the town centre.
