strype2 Posted December 1, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2004 Leaving Jan. 29, 2005 on the Serenade, trying to figure out what would be the best excursions to book. Don't want to spend time shopping love the beach, snorkeling, kyaking, swimming, or just touring. Not a fan of the big bus tours. Any suggestions? cruiseman_tx Posted December 1, 2004 #2 Share Posted December 1, 2004 First off, you need to state where you'll be stopping (itinerary), then you should get some feeback. Also, try to get the info you need on the Ports of Call board at the link below. There is already plenty of info just sitting there waiting to be read. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=

Miss Vickie Posted December 2, 2004 #5 Share Posted December 2, 2004 Antigua - Eli's EcoTour is a must do. There's tons of stuff on the ports of call boards about it, and the link to his site is www.adventureantigua.com. We've done it 3 times now, and think it's the best excursion we've ever taken! CRieger Posted December 2, 2004 #6 Share Posted December 2, 2004 Golden Eagle Catamaran in St. Martaan is great! One of the best excursions that we have every done. We are planning to do it again in May! Happy Cruising! Carol
strype2 Posted December 2, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted December 2, 2004 Are these booked through RCI or private?
cruiseman_tx Posted December 2, 2004 #8 Share Posted December 2, 2004 Golden Eagle Catamaran is through RCI and it is a lot of fun. Be advised that you'll probably see some nudity, especially in the winter months when more Europeans will be there. Another good excursion at St.Maarten through RCI is the America's Cup Race. Alternate plan, get a cab to Orient Beach. Swim, work on your tan, grab lunch, shop a little and get a cab back to the ship. For Eli's tour in Antigua, go to his web site that's listed in the above post about him. There's also a lot of info about his tour on the 'Port Of Call' board. St.Thomas...you can get a cab at the pier to Coki Beach. Good to snorkle & swim. A good RCI excursion is Captain Nautica. They take small groups to St. John on very fast power rafts for two good snorkle stops. St. Lucia...see the Pitons somehow. The land/sea/snorkle tour is worth doing. Hope this helps, and have a great cruise. You've got a beautiful ship and a great itinerary.
strype2 Posted December 2, 2004 Author #9 Share Posted December 2, 2004 Thank you so much you have been very helpful. I just booked Eli's Eco Tour, it looks fantastic!! Is Coki Beach better than Megan's Bay? I think it's Megan's bay on St. Thomas???????

Per cruiseman_tx ...You'll find soooooooooo much info by going to the Ports of Call Section (or just click here) Honestly, the excursions seldom change from year-to-year ... so you'd enjoy also reading the older posts. lgt Posted December 3, 2004 #11 Share Posted December 3, 2004 Our absolutely, most favorite excursion was the private (they only take 12 people)catamaran in Barbados. It is called Silver Moon. They take you to snorkle with the turtles and 2 other places. They give you a great lunch & drinks. The catamaran is spotless and the crew was fantastic. It is a little on the high side, but it is private. They will pick you up at the dock & take you back. The whole operation is first rate. You can find them at http://www.oceanadventures.bb and then click on Silver Moon. We spent our 30th anniversary with them and we will never forget it. cbryteach Posted December 5, 2004 #12 Share Posted December 5, 2004 I second the Silver Moon Catamaran tour. We just go back yesterday and it WAS the BEST of the cruise. The small group was wonderful. They provided what ever drink you wanted (Barbados beer, awesome pina coladoas, strawberry daquris, rum punch, fruit punch, soda, coffee and hot tea). A full meal was provided and rum cake at the end. You will not be sorry that you did this.
