Blessed Limo Seattle

Blessed Limo was just on King-5 news last night for operating without a license and providing poor customer service.

It is always a good idea to check with Washington Dept. of Licensing to see if an operator is legally registered to operate in this state. Select "Vehicle Related Specialty Licenses" under License Type:

That's not good. I guess they aren't really "blessed". A license they should have...

SeattleBob do you have recommendations for a Seattle Limo Co. ?

My best recommendation is to use the member directory at the National Limousine Association.

http://www.nlaride.com/

Also, there is a Puget Sound Limo Assocation, but the website appears to be down at the moment.

Being members of these industry associations is not necessarily a guarantee, but is a sign that their members are working to improve their industry through high standards, excellent customer service, and regulatory compliance.

Use the Washington Dept. of Licensing (also referenced above) to check whether an operator is legal:

https://fortress.wa.gov/dol/dolprod/bpdLicenseQuery/

Transportation providers also have to comply with Port of Seattle regulations if they wish to operate at Sea-Tac Airport. If an operator only provides "curb-side" pickup, requiring you to call their cellphone upon arrival, would be a red flag that they may not be fully legal with the Port. Companies that are compliant with regulations at Sea-Tac will have "Baggage Claim meet" as a standard operating procedure: the chauffeur and dispatcher will be tracking your flight to ensure that the chauffeur is waiting for you at the Baggage Claim level upon your arrival (no phone call required), and will assist with your bags and then escort you to your awaiting vehicle.

When you are shopping around, also make sure you are comparing apples to apples. Some will quote just their base rate to get you in the car, then add the gratuity, surcharges, etc after the fact (welcome to the travel industry!) while others will quote the fully inclusive rate, with all gratuity & surcharges already included.

Any of the chauffeured transportation providers you will find on http://www.nlaride.com/ will be able to provide that type of service for you. Knowledgeable, experienced chauffeurs will be able to tailor your tour to your wishes & desires. Using a chauffeured transportation company will also allow you to have the vehicle at your disposal for the duration of your tour; this allows you to stop for lunch (or coffee or chocolate or beer, you will be in Seattle after all) or return to your hotel to freshen up before resuming your tour around town.

You will want to consider the type of vehicle:

- A Lincoln Towncar Sedan can accomodate 4 passengers, but this means 3 people in the back seat and 1 up front; not uncomfortable for 4 family members but perhaps not ideal for a ride of longer duration (i.e. more sitting in the car vs. shorter rides with stops to get out of the car).

- Stretch limousines can handle more passengers in comfort, but depending on configuration can be not so great for getting in & out of the vehicle. Teenagers going to proms don't care, but most grown-ups don't find them to be a very good option. As an aside, limos usually have less trunk capacity than the unmodified sedans and don't work very well for airport & cruise transfers due to luggage issues.

- SUVs and Vans can be great for your needs. They have big windows for sightseeing and plenty of room to be comfortable for 4 passengers. The only drawback may be the need to step up and in to get in to the vehicle, but a good chauffeur will always be at hand to offer any necessary assistance.

Regards,

Bob

Thanks so very much for your response and all the information. Am I correct that company names can't be posted here? If they can, do you have any suggestions? Also, how many hours do you think is needed to go from Sea-Tac to Needle, tour there then on to Pike Market, tour there and then possibly the Ladder and then back to Sea-Tac for a flight out to Fairbanks? Again, thanks for all your help.

Check out J and S towncar & limo. jandstowncar dot com.

They are taking good care of us, I have 3 trips scheduled with them.

They will email you back fast and work with your needs. Very Very reasonable rates and it beats trying to flag down a cab

i called jandstowncar, but the person who answered the phone didn't even say their own business name. Not critisizing their professionality, but being a young woman, it scares me a little.

has anyone ever heard of or used "driver for hire"? i saw someone post that they had. anyone else?
