lovetovacation Posted April 10, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2009 On every DCL Caribbean itinerary I've checked, there are never any suites available? Do they book first? Or are there so few that it's not even worth it to try to snag one? Has anyone stayed in one? Thanks.
jenmouse Posted April 10, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2009 They fill extremely quickly; you need to contact DCL or a travel agent as soon as you know your dates to handle your request (they will not show up on the website).
AlexandNessa Posted April 14, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 14, 2009 Are you calling to check? As the PP poster said, you cannot book suites online. You must call or have a TA do it. And to answer your question, no. They often do not sell out, except on special cruises (holidays, special itineraries, popular school vacation times). There are still suites available for the 4/26 Wonder we are on. DCL has recently increased the prices of the suites by a whole heck of a lot. Many are reporting being able to upgrade at the port for a portion of what it would cost to book suites initially. Of course, that is taking a big risk that suites may not be available by the time you arrive.
dta87 Posted April 14, 2009 #4 Share Posted April 14, 2009 The CAT 1 and 2 suites were full for our cruise in May when we checked last June. They had 4 CAT 3 suites left then and I know some of those are still available (32 days out). For the CAT 1 and 2 suites I would fax a request into inventory control for the dates you are interested in and they will let you know if anything is available. For the CAT 3's it is probably easiest to just go through a TA and they can check availability for you.
newbie2rc Posted April 14, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 14, 2009 Does anyone know approx. what it costs to upgrade from a cat4 to a cat 3 suite at check-in? There are 2 adults a 3 children in our party (not sure if the # in your party affects the price). Thanks:D
