LaQuinta Miami Airport West or North?

Anyone know how the neighborhoods are at these hotels for walking to stores, etc?

I know at La Quinta Airport East you can not walk anywhere and there are no restaurants there either except the pricey steakhouse at Embassy Suites.

Thanks!

Look, generally speaking, anything around the airport near NW 36th is pretty creepy for walking, especially after dark. I grew up south of the airport and I still know the area pretty well. If you want to go walking, stay in South Beach, Coconut Grove, etc. If you just want to stay in the hotel for a night before or after your cruise, the airport area is fine. There are some nice places in the Blue Lagoon area where you can safely walk to the 94th Aero Squadron restaurant and a strip mall with fast food, convenience stores, etc.
