I am a fanatic about weight and am really careful how much I pack along. I thought it would be brilliant to have such books and maps loaded on to my iPhone or iPad, but having tried it out I've found they are darn hard to read when outside.

 

I have been over 17 months getting over a non-hiking related leg injury and have spent many hours and days dreaming about my Alaska walks.

 

I'm going to give my leg a trial run fairly soon to see if she and I are ready to get out in the fresh air again. One way or another! I've been walking on mesas in Texas to get back in shape. Too hot!
