fountain cokes or cans?

Recommended Posts

My husband is planning on getting a coke card when we are on majesty because that is his mixer of choice, BUT does the "card" mean you get only fountain cokes? I've heard that these fountain cokes are watered down OR you sometimes even get a glass from a 2 liter. We just might be bringing our own cokes or atleast a few if this is the case. Anyone?....

Fountain drinks only with the sticker. No cans. Fountain ones were fine on Navigator. The only exception to "no cans" was on Coco Cay where they did not have fountain dispensors. They poured from cans into cups for everyone.

Cans are available on board, but not with the use of the pop/juice card.

They are not watered down, they are mixed with Water and Syrul and Carbo, just like the soda syphons in McDonalds, Burger King and the like. Coke has these machines down to a science but the taste difference is still HUGE (to me).

My kids have the Soda cards and we tend to buy soft drinks at the Bar which are Cans.

Get the card if you drink alot and treat yourself to a can ($1.25) occasionally

Hi All - curious as to whether or not u can bring cans of pop on board - can't find any regulations forbidding it like alcohol - also what about water - should I put whatever I take in this regard in my carryon or checked luggage? Appreciate replies & happy cruisin'!

You can take it on board. I have a collapsable cooler the I take on board. Usually the room steward will keep it full of ice to keep water and soda cold.

The RCL web site says "no cans" for the soda card. Two years ago, I purchased this on Celebrity after paying almost three dollars for the first 10 or so cokes but I can't stand fountain soda so it was a waste of money. On Celeb, we were able to bring some coke on board from the ports of call - have no idea if this will be the case with RCI

On our second cruise, my friend took a gallon of water along with her - carried onto the plane not even in a bag and onto the boat. She's a nut but she plans to take two gallons and a 6pack of soda too on our next! She's lucky I volunteer to help her carry her stuff. We didn't get the soda card...and my kids got soda couple times...they fill a glass and then hand you the can so you have the whole thing.

My kids hate the taste of fountain soda...so I'd rather just limit the sodas they drink and let them have it from cans...in the end costs me the same.

As for bringing your own...I'd do that if you can...we did on our cruise in 2003...brought wine, water, sodas...you bet!!! We had it dispursed between our checked and carry on...not a problem. This past cruise...2004 we only brought wine and water...forgot all about soda for the kids.

ENJOY!!!
