Fishing?

(This question's also on the Belize board, as well as the Roatan)

My DH desperately wants to go fishing while we are on our cruise in August. However, we don't really want to spend the $200 ($99 per person) to go through Carnival, and I'm not too sure as to what other companies are out there. He's under the impression you can just walk up on the beach and rent the equipment. Is that true? If not, what companies do fishing excursions? Thanks!

There are no companies in Cayman to rent fishing equipment on the beach.

Tourists can fish without a license, so if he brings his own gear he is welcome to try his luck. He still must abide by the local laws regarding catch limits and which species can be taken. Catch and release is strongly encouraged.
