Bioluminescent bay tour AFTER midnight?

Does anyone know of a company that does this tour after midnight? Our itinerary has changed and we will now be in SJ from 10pm to 11:30am. I was disappointed to not be able to do this tour since our original itin had us leaving at 5pm but now that we are in PR overnight I thought maybe we could get it in

Iknow my kids would LOVE it!

As a local, there are no companies that I know that do it.

But you can contact the companies and see if anyone can do it for you. They probably need about 12 people to make it worth there while, but if you can get that many, I bet someone would do it.

Hi,

We're are also in PR the same time in June(must be the Explorer) and I just mentioned this on our Roll Call. I think that would be a great Idea for an excursion, maybe we could contact Rccl and see who they use. I believe it is one of their excursions. Correct me if I'm wrong, but RCCL should at least look into it. That would be a lot of fun.

Have a great cruise

Ha ha ha..... oops- you were making a joke right?!.....

Honestly, if they were thinking of the best interest of the people on board, would they really dock from 10p-11:30am? I know I am sleeping most of those hours, aren't you?

I would plan my own thing and let the cruise ship do their own thing....They need to load up on provisions and unload waste. I would guess the cheapest time would be overnight..... Your fun is just an afterthought....

There are a few companies to check with... try a Google search:

"kayak fajardo biobay puerto rico"

See what you find and if anyone can help you. This is a new time for cruise ships into port (the last time was bad enough 5-12mn)!. They may or may not be able to accommodate you. Most tours are done by 11pm.

ps- cruise ships don't dock for your pleasure.... it all has to do with money.....

Hi Rainforestgirl,

No Joke...You're right. In fact not only is it money but a broken propeller which makes for a slow sailing. thus our itinerary has changed for most of the ports.

I did a google and found out it is a private tour co. and in a Kayak at night:rolleyes:

Guess we'll just do the casino or check out the pubs;)

BTW, how's the weather?

Take Care

Call and ask those companies.... Since it is a new time, someone may be able to help. The bay glows at midnight too....you might as well try to make the best of a bad situation.

Weather lately has been great! Summer is here now, so it is hot. About 85 and usually sunny. This week we have gotten rain overnight/ and in the am. May is usually a bit wetter, but I wouldn't worry to much about it. We get rain, but not usually days and days of it. Just a few minutes/few hours (well unless a large storm is coming through).

Connie:

I believe we may be on the same cruise and I too thought that this would be awesome for us and the kids! I emailed 2 companies and if I find out anything I'll post here and if you do will you do the same? We are on the Explorer June 11th and have 9 in our group. I think this would be so much fun so please keep me in mind if you don't mind and need a group or something.

Thanks

Kim

Kimbo - I emailed 3 companies and got the same response. :( Oh well. I'm gonna keep on researching and see what I come up with.

You guys are on the Explorer in June - We are on in October. Can't believe they've changed us so early! Make sure to write a review so we can see what you guys were able to do with this overnight intinerary.

Enjoy your cruise!

Did you by chance contact Eco Action Tours - when she replied to me she called me Connie? Thought that was funny. Anyway, I'm checking to see if they would do a really EARLY rainforest tour. I'll let you know what I find out. I am assuming that if they changed your October cruise that this is a perminant itinerary change! I will keep you posted.

Aww that's too bad they won't do it! I too am on the June 11th cruise and would have loved to do it. We have zip-lining booked in the morning, so I'm hoping that won't be cancelled (it shouldn't - 8-11am), but I guess at night we'll just hang out onboard.

Does anyone have any experience walking around the port around 6am? We might want to get off early for a little walk before our zip-lining.

That's interesting - we're not leaving PR until 11:30am in June... when I called RCI they said they're working on adjusting the times of their excursions with the tour operators, and will likely end up making some of them just half an hour early or so to fit them in. So I think the zip-lining will be fine.
