E3 - Brilliance ?

Recommended Posts

The E-3's are primarly on deck 7. The down side that people talk about is that you can not look straight down to see the water. There are covers over the lifeboats that are right below you. If you look at the deck plans you will see that near the front and back of the ship they extend out farther and do not have the lifeboats below them.

If your goal to having a balcony is that you can look straight down to the water, then the E3 is not for you unless you have a "hump" or "bump" cabin. If your goal is just to have a balcony so you that you can keep the door open at night or have a restful place to read or eat breakfast, then the E3 is just fine.

We were stretching the limits of our budget just to get a balcony and do not find it necessary to add the expense to have a larger room or look down at the water. Just MHO. I would rather spend that extra money on other extras for the trip.

If budget is a real problem, I would skip the balcony and opt for an outside cabin. You can still see out, although the view is less expansive. It is so easy to get outside on many decks. We only take the balcony if it is not much more expensive than an outside cabin. The thing is a D cabin is so much bigger than an E. On our last cruise, it was only about $50 more expensive.
