(ok...i'm talking about ATL and it's suburbs). my very good friend is down in McDonough...yeah a transplant. hey...can't you slice up some hot dogs and garnish your grits with them? Actually I am a transplant -- from KENTUCKY!! Even more "country" than GA!! I haven't tried hot dogs in grits but I will now! SH:D
Mooder Posted April 23, 2009 #53 Share Posted April 23, 2009 Good! Now we just have to have you try 'Possum stew sprinkled with fried pork rinds!:D SH:D I'd try that. Can't promise I'll like it. A couple of weekends ago, we went to the Finger Lakes region in upstate NY. A small roadside tavern suprised us by offering grits. They had "grits" and "northern grits." Wasn't clear what norther grits were, but it seemed it meant they put cheese on them. I went with good old grits, then they couldn't believe I didn't want milk or brown sugar on them! They didn't seem to understand that grits are just the vehicle for my butter, salt and pepper and some good crispy bacon, when I'm being really bad.
