Reef Bottom Fishing?

My H really wants to do fishing while on the cruise, and the only excursion I saw offered through Carnival was the reef bottom fishing. Has anyone done this excursion or anything similar? TIA!

My husband did this excursion in March. The fishing boat picks you up right from the ship and you're on your way. It holds 20 people in total and everyone had their own rod. He enjoyed the morning, but nothing big was caught by anyone on board so I think it was a bit disappointing. That's just the nature of fishing, though. :) He caught 7 small fish but I don't know what kind they were. He would have preferred to charter a boat in Cozumel, but our other group members wanted to do the Belize excursion. I stayed on the ship and thoroughly enjoyed my morning relaxing.
