arodnap Posted April 24, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 24, 2009 I'm considering booking a balcony cabin on B deck (grade DD) can anyone for 2 adults and one child are they large enough to be comfortable, and will there be sun on the balcony or are they shaded? maritime mick Posted April 26, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2009 I cruised to Venice on Aurora last year with my wife and sister. Great cruise, excellent ship. We had a balcony cabin right at the aft end of "C" deck. There was plenty of room for three in the cabin during the day. We had it configured with a double bed - a folding sofa bed providing the third berth. Its a bit tight at night - the sofa bed lies between the fixed bed and the balcony and folds out in front of the balcony door. Its a bit awkward if its a nice evening and you fancy sitting out for a while after dinner. You either have to fold the made up sofa bed back up or crawl over it to reach the balcony door. The bottom of the sofa bed also sits a bit tight against the fridge door. When our cabin steward folded the sofa bed down, he put the coffee table out onto the balcony to provide a bit more space in the cabin. The system works well and is far better than the pullman type berths that fold down from the ceiling. The balcony will be shaded from the overhead sun by the balcony above you. devondel Posted April 26, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 26, 2009 we have just done 93 days around world on this ship. cannot better the previous reply however, the balcony is cut out of the ship side so sun bathing is unlikely. we have since decided that next time we will go for a window room and spend the savings on trips and bar !!!! enjoy - we certainly did! wonderful ship and fantastic staff!!!
