Grand Cayman Diving with Royal Caribbean

Does anyone have any information about the companies Royal uses for dive excursions at Grand Cayman?

 

I trying to find out safety, quality, and whether or not its a cattle boat

We did the ship's excursion last year while on the Mariner. We did not enjoy the experience and would not book with the ship again. It was a cattle boat. RC used Sea Sports.

In February of 2008 they used Resort Sports Ltd off Freedom. It was a very good dive trip. Not even close to a cattle boat. We don't normally do cruise ship diving but went on this one because we heard they were ok and because you have to tender in Cayman and the chance of missing a private dive trip was too great. We just got off the AOS and did 3 dive trips on our own (not RCI) that were outstanding.

Thats great to hear about the Freedom, I Will be cruising on the Freedom May 24. Grand Caymans will be my one and only dive during the whole trip, so I want to make sure its good.

There is also great shore diving very close to the cruise terminal. Turn left out of the terminal and walk down a few blocks to the dive shop and get a map of the site.

I always liked the idea of parking at Burger King downtown and diving Cheeseburger Reef out back--then eating one!!!

I think the poster may be referring to the Wreck of the Cali which is accessible from the Diver's Down shop. Eden Rock would be a turn to the right.
