Smoking is only allowed at the bar in the casino. In November, they had five and ten dollar blackjack tables. The rules were basically the same as Las Vegas with a few differences. The dealer stood on all 17's and I don't believe they allowed you to surrender your hand. Blackjacks payed 3 to 2. They used a six deck shoe. I don't know the answer to the question about children. I never saw any children in the casino but that may be because there may not have been any children on the cruise. :D

Smokers were definately at the slots on the Mariner last month and were not confined to the bar area.

Interesting, Pat. Either the smoking policy has changed or, more likely, they were not enforcing it. Here's the printout we received regarding the fleet-wide smoking policy. It clearly states that smoking is allowed only at the bar counter in the casino. (http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2359065370101716102FJalcs?vhost=good-times)

Dave, I think it was a matter of not enforcing it. Didn't bother me that much as I just moved to another area of the slots. I also think because the casino was empty most of the time that they were a little lax with the rules. The ship was only 1/3 full.
