BC Hilton vs. Wyndham for this weekend

I have read all of the threads on both, but would like some input from anyone who has gone to either of these properties recently. We are a group of 8 (ages 32-60) arriving this Sat.

Am I correct in understanding the passes to BCH are $20 and just include admission and the passes to Wyndham are $40 and include lunch?

How is the beach at BCH? We just want to enjoy swimming in calm clear blue waters and the occasional drink. Wyndham looks gorgeous and the pools there and at Sheraton seem divine.

We will have already eaten lunch as we get into port at noon - so I am trying to debate whether paying an extra $20 pp would be worth it to go to the Wyndham.

Any thoughts are appreciated!

The Hilton property is a traditional business hotel on the harbour. It has a small private beach overlooking the cruiseships and Paradise island. it has a small quiet pool with more business suits than bathing suits.

This is not a busy resort, but a quiet oasis from the noise of the city and the buzz of the resorts. It's not very child friendly, but kids are allowed.

You won't find games, loud music or entertainment. Beach and Pool service is available for drinks and lunch.

Most people relax and sleep or read a book. To me, and many others, this is paradise.

Wyndham on the other hand is a moderate sized high rise resort with all the amenities, pool, slide, swim up bar, bar and grill, DJ, a lagoon and use of the sheraton next door. You'll also find a casino, shopping and jetskis.

I enjoy the wyndham property as well. For your group, it may have the diversity that you need.

Thanks for the input - that does look nice and relaxing. I see the swim area is roped off, so not too much to explore it seems. I will pass along the info to the group and see what they decide. I personally think I would LUV the Wyndham.

I'm glad I was able to give you some info! The Wyndham does look nice as well. I just knew that my girls wouldn't eat enough for the price we'd have to pay. Plus, the taxi to get there.

Thanks again. I agree about the kids. I think that when we do Nassau in the fall with our 3 kids, we will go that route. There is no way I would pay $200 for all of us to do the Wyndham. Since we are going kidless this time, I think I would like to do the Wyndham as there is more for all of the adults to do and do BCH in the fall with the kids.

here's some of my personal photos from the wyndham in Feb 09. I really enjoyed it. Great pool area.. but you can find some nice quiet spots to just relax and read as well. perfect mix.

BCH looks like something I would like as we will be 5 adults in June. We want a place we can lounge around on the beach within walking distance from dock and then do some sight seeing on foot. Thanks for the pics. Do they give you umbrellas with the beach chairs?

So is BCH $20 for adults and $5 for children? I want to make sure I have everything straight for our last minute visit to Nassau! And they provide towels for your use?

THANK YOU!

Last I was there it was $20 for adults and $10 for kids.. I don't think that has changed.

They provide towels throughout the day.. kayaks and sand toys as well.

Are the kayaks included in the day pass price, or an additional charge? Thanks again!

about the Wyndham:

it's $40 per person are kids priced the same?

also is there beach access there I could not see any in photos?

Do they limit the amount of people they let in?

Where & when can you purchase your passes?

Wyndhams price is for 4 years and up.

The beach is in a lagoon.. and you have access to a strip of open beach at the sheraton next door.

They will limit the amount of people at some point.. their staff can only handle so many.

You must purchase the passes at the front desk, same day. First come, first serve.

They wyndham will be closed from August 17 to October 6th.
