usmale Posted April 27, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 27, 2009 My son and I are going to Cozumel in May. What is best way to find an authentic Cuban cigar?
Rare mk-ultra Posted April 27, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 27, 2009 Take a north by northwest heading and 203 miles later you should hit the beach near Havana. :D
Zada Posted May 5, 2009 #3 Share Posted May 5, 2009 Your best bet is to take the ferry over to Playa Del Carmen. There are several shops that offer Cuban cigars. Casa del Habano is perhaps the best known of the shops. Some online research suggests it has since closed. However there are other shops, Partagas, comes to mind, that also offer the geunuine article. Beware street vendors offering Cuban "seconds." There is no such thing as a Cuban second. Of course, some vendors will allow you to sample a cigar prior to purchase. If you enjoy the cigar and the price is right, what does it matter if it is Cuban, Dominican, Mexican or from somewhere else entirely? Indeed, one of my favorite cigars comes from a little cigar "factory" in La Romana (La Hoya Fiesta). Sadly I haven't been able to find those cigars anywhere else since. :(
