I'm trying to explain tipping to my husband, and I guess I don't understand it as well as I thought I did.

Is it correct that tipping is $60/day per person? So, if we (our family of six) are on a 7 day cruise, would we calculate $360/day times 7 days?

No it's only $10/day per person so it's $70 per person for the 7 days = $420

No,

The suggested amount is $10 per day but you can go to the pursers and have them adjusted or removed and just tip in cash at the end.

Your travel agent must have told you $60 per day, obviously multiplying the $10 per person times your family of six. (Yes the kids do pay the same as adults.)

$ 1.00 Per Day Alternative Services: distributed to other kitchen and hotel service staff
