Vancouver - One night hotel, One dinner.

Hi

We will be doing an Alaskan Cruise this July (cruising out of Seward to Vancouver).

We will arrive in Vancouver early morning, spend the day sight-seeing, spend the night in a very nice hotel, one nice dinner, Spend the morning/early afternoon sight-siing, then off to the airport for the 8.35pm flight back to the UK...

Am looking for a nice hotel RIGHT in the centre of things. So we can leave the cruise, go straight to the hotel, get them to store our luggage for the day and then go off and enjoy the city. On the day of check-out, again get them to store the luggage, so we can sight-see and collect the luggage ont he way to the airport. Suggestions?

Restaurant-wise, thinking of a "restaurant with a view": would love a good restaurant with a great view of the city. Any good hotels with a good restaurant like that or is there a restaurant like that close to the good hotels?

Thanks

Boo

Easy, I would recommend for the hotel, the Pan Pacific which is part of Canada Place or the Fairmont's Waterfront Hotel which is right across the street from Canada Place...you can't go wrong with either one. For your dinner I would suggest Aqua Riva which is about 100 paces east of these hotels and has wonderful views of the harbour and the North Shore mountains and the Pan Pacific has their Five Sails restaurant which is an excellent restaurant with view similar to Aqua Riva. For touring you may want to consider one of the HOHO excursions which sell a 2 day pass.:)
