It seems this will be a fantastic ship, just booked 12 day cruise sailing April 28th for the Canaries. I will be spending my 60th birthday on board this new ship...............:):)

Don't know if this as been posted elsewhere, but Azuras Godmother as been chosen. Former Royal Ballet principal dancer Darcey Bussell as been named Azura's Godmother, Darcey who lives in Australia will fly back in Spring for the nameing ceremony. A P&O. spokesperson said that Darcey is the image of glamour, sophistication, and elegance, all the atributes that gone into the design of the flagship Azura.

I have asked elsewhere but anyone know how to wangle a ships visit..I would like a look round Azura....I would LOVE to go to the naming ceremony, wonder how that works?

Flag this post up again, as I was expecting more interest in Azura and the naming ceremony. Suprised they didn't pick a better known Celeb ? or relieved that they didn't ? or just not interested ?

Got in touch with my TA today ...spoke to a different person who called P&O for me & said that a ship visit was possible..we shall see.

The covering letter with the new Portunus mag says that 5000 Portunus members will be receiving invites for a walkaround. The invites will be sent out to the most travelled passengers.

I presume that you had to look up Darcey Bussell, given your earlier post?

I have heard of Kelly Holmes, double Olympic gold medallist. I have heard of Dame Helen Mirren as well, and Darcey Bussell.
