Holiday Inn Pompano and car rental

Hi I'm sailing out on a 2day short cruise to Bahamas out of FLL next week and really wanted to stay downtown. I bid on priceline, really wanted marriott marina, wemt up tp $75, added Mirimar, then added Pompano, hoping that I'd be in luck. I ended up with Holiday Inn Pompano, and slightly disappointed, its way out from airport and cruise port, I wasnt looking at renting a car but now seems like the only option. We get into FLL like at midnight. Any suggestions??
