clemson91 Posted May 4, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 4, 2009 What would be a good snorkel area for me to take a couple of 10-year olds in Grand Cayman? 1. I've heard of Eden Rock, but it seems kind of deep for the kids. 2. I've heard of Cemetery Beach, but the description of the place makes it seem like it might not be a safe place to bring a family. You know, you have to walk down a little path beside a cemetery to the secluded beach. 3. I've heard of Smith Cove. I would like to find a place that the snorkeling is not too far from the shore, not too deep, and a good, safe place to bring a family.:)
sh0rty470 Posted May 4, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 4, 2009 Eden Rock is a little deep for kids, although my daughter always loved it and Devil's Grotto.. And Cemetary is perfectly safe for kids and family. We have been snorkeling there for 15 years.
jean-lynd Posted May 5, 2009 #3 Share Posted May 5, 2009 My 9 year old grandson loved snorkeling at Cemetary Beach. It is a very safe and beautiful location. The reef is out pretty far but you will see fish as soon as you enter the water. We brought some cheap rafts from the dollar store that we took turns resting on while swimming out and back from the reef. We didn't have fins or vests. It would have been much easier if we had fins. Please remember that there are no vacilities there. I hope this helps! Enjoy!
Jill_GA Posted June 2, 2009 #4 Share Posted June 2, 2009 Should you just take a cab to Cemetary Beach? About how much r/t? Thanks!
jean-lynd Posted June 3, 2009 #5 Share Posted June 3, 2009 You can take a cab or the bus goes by there. I know the bus is $2.50/person. We had a rental car when we went there but I would guess a cab would be $6-7/person each way. I hope this helps! Enjoy!
