adios Posted December 7, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 7, 2004 I have completed 3 RCCL cruises, but have never swam in the pool in the solarium. I am planning a trip in Jan. out of Galveston, so the outdoor pool may be too cool. Is the water in the solarium pool warmer? I don't remember, but are there hot tubs in there (on the Rhapsody) or are they all outside.

cruizinmimi Posted December 8, 2004 #4 Share Posted December 8, 2004 Just got off the Rhapsody Dec. 5th. The water in the pool by outside and solarium was cold the first 2 days. It was only when we reached Costa Maya that it was warm enough to jump in and enjoy. But of course, I like the temp to be at least 84. :D It felt like it was 78. Too cold for me. I needed to be really hot before I would just jump in. Enjoy your cruise. Linda
davidaperryman Posted December 8, 2004 #5 Share Posted December 8, 2004 The water in the pools is taken directly out of the sea so it is the same temperature. The further south you go the warmer it will be.
wolfganghowell Posted December 8, 2004 #6 Share Posted December 8, 2004 I always swim in the solarium pool - the temperature is the same as the sea. If it is too cold for you, you will warm right up. If not, get in the hottub for a few minutes first - that way you will be warm and toasty and the water will feel fabulous!
Kors Posted December 9, 2004 #7 Share Posted December 9, 2004 O.K. Stupid question...what about the temp in Alaska? I am serious...not trying to be funny...how warm is the pool water there?
mrsshmthaus Posted December 9, 2004 #8 Share Posted December 9, 2004 BRRRR!!! Good question. I bet it's cold if it is the temp of the sea!! All kidding aside - back to the Caribbean... I know that the water is the same that goes into both pools, but we were freezing in the solarium. Not so much in the outside pool. Of course, you have the sun to warm up the outside pool. It was nice to have the indoor pool to relax by when you wanted to get out of the sun (or away from the kids! ) Have a great time on the Rhapsody. You will love her and her crew! Merry Christmas all.
stillfrantic Posted December 9, 2004 #9 Share Posted December 9, 2004 The pools aren't heated? The water comes directly from the ocean??? Oh my! This will be a change, to be sure. Do they put the typical cholorines and such in?
