Ports of call - Princess Mediterranean Adventurer 2010

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon all,

We're off on the above cruise next year and the ports of call are Malaga, Barcelona, Monte Carlo, Rome, Naples, Ajaccio and Gibraltar. We've never been to any of these places so don't know what to expect. Looking at the Princess website, it seems that the two shore excursions that we will need to do are Rome and Naples. They offer what appears to be just a coach into Rome which then drops you off giving you the whole day to wander about independently. We're both quite happy to research Rome before we go so is this the best value for us? Naples-wise, I'd quite like to see Herculaneum as I believe that it's better-preserved than Pompeii. The trips to Herc. seem like rather good value so is it worth the hassle of getting the bus from outside the port?

For the other stops, we'd be quite happy to simply wander about under our own steam unless there is something that the seasoned cruisers can alert us to that we would miss on our own?

As always, many thanks in advance.

Best regards

Rob and Sue
