wolfie11 Posted May 7, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 7, 2009 I was in Denali Park yesterday and today and drove the road to Teklanika at 30 miles. Most of the snow is melted due to our unseasonably warm temperatures last week. We saw many animals, including a couple of dozen caribou, four moose, Dall sheep high up, lots of ptarmigan and bunnies, a bear, a wolf, and a lynx. The weather was cold and windy with snow showers and it froze last night. There is a lot of activity in Glitter Gulch as businesses get ready to open for the summer. There is a new deli that is open 24 hours (a possible alternative to Subway for packed lunches?) and a liquor store. I also saw a fish and chips place that may have been new last year. JerseyJaguar Posted May 7, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 7, 2009 Thanks Wolfie, between your reports and Yukon's about everyone getting ready for the season to start, I'm getting so excited.
