Age of passengers on Arcadia

Hi I have booked a cruise for our 25th Wedding Anniversary on Arcadia next July for a Med cruise. This will be our first cruise. After reading various comments on different sites it seems I might have made a mistake because we are only mid to late forties and most passengers it seems are a lot older. Is there a mix of ages on the 14 might med cruises or nor?

Yes!

I am 47 and have been on Arcadia 3 times...

Because Arcadia is child free, you have no young families, which means NO mums and dads in their 20's-35's BUT you will have plenty in your age group, (I also started cruising on my 25th Anniversary), the 'left the teenagers at home brigade', also now Arcadia does weddings their will be some in their 20's upward getting married, plus bridesmaids and best mans etc...

Then there is the pensioners and early retired brigade 58+ Quite a few between 58-75...

There will also be a few over 75 to 99 lol but not as many as the other groups:)

Hope that helps!

It is wonderful sitting around the pool with a cocktail with no screeching kids, and having the pool free for a gentle swim, the hydro pool and spa are the best in the fleet,

have you seen my Arcadia album?

You will have a fab time...

I have booked Oriana and Oceana now, and I AM WORRIED ABOUT THE KIDS!

Think you are worrying about the same as I did, my wife and I are going on Arcadia end of July for a one week Norwegian Fjords trip. As I am 47 and my wife 43 and in decent nick for it, then was not keen on a cruise as felt like it was not for me as love activities such as SCUBA etc on hols. Well some thanks have to go to Libralass as a look at her pics and advice on cruises made us decide to book Arcadia.

I know when we have been on Caribbean holidays in recent years those we have socialised with have been from 30's to 70,s so I should not have been so ageist but guess by nature we feel more comfortable in related groupings be that based on social status age or whatever. I know the travel agent we use very well and she knew only too well my hangup on trying a cruise well when she rang P and O to book, I burts out laughing and she asked me waht it was, I told her I had just overheard the PO staff member ask her if we needed oxygen in our room!!! I could have rested my case on that one.

Looking forward to the cruise now even if only dipping my toe in the water for a week, sure you will enjoy it.

Cheers and thanks to Libralass

Hi

We are planning a cruise for August with our 20- & 22-year old children. We're 52 & 53. Wondering if the children will find other young adults of their own age on Arcadia (Med cruise J913). Anybody any experience of how many single 18-25s one gets? The alternative for us is Queen Victoria, but that could be stuffy. At least the Arcadia has what looks like a real nightclub!

We`re on J913 in August. Its our first time on P&O. Previous cruises we`ve actually really enjoyed the company of, sometimes, much older people. At other times we`ve met up with people of similar ages to ourselves (54). On Cunard the Maitre `d seemed to have matched people to tables by ages. That worked well. I dont know if P&O do that though.

Travel hopefully, I`m sure we`ll all have a ball!!

We to are on the Arcadia for the first time in August on J913. I am 47 and did worry about some of the negetive reviews like 'cruising in an old folks home' 'ghost ship after 11pm as everyone must have gone to bed' but have been reassured by others and their photos posted online.

We did also think of all the positives like having room to swim in the pool, the excellent service after 11pm if everyone is in bed! There has got to be more like minded onboard so we are not worrying about it. We know we will have a great time as if fact some of the most lively, fun people we know are in their 60's so age really has nothing to do with it.

I will post a review and try and get photos online once we are home as this info from others is so useful. Thank you to all those who have done this.:)

I have found the age group on Arcadia to be very old, lots of zimmers & wheelchairs, people walking very slowly around & along the corridors, lifts always full. Most nights the ship IS like a ghost town after midnight & the Electra club is almost always totally empty except when they show football there. Having said this as it is true we love Arcadia as a ship & are going on her twice this year.

Not alot in their age group,,,, perhaps if you want themto meet more their age you should consider another ship...like Oceana /Ventura?

Its fine for you, and all over 45+ but there won't be loads in their age group 20-25...
