Good Morning!

We got passports about 2 years ago. Glad we did. Figured we would need them sooner or later.

I checked flights again yesterday. They have gone up 10.00 PP. Still not to bad. Are we going to try to meet the day before we sail? I think a few od us are going to be at the same hotel.

From what I heard when there are group involved they reserve a certain amount of cabins for the group until close to when the cruise sails. So, we should have cabins for the group and if it sells out I guess the meants the people that book thru the group may get better rooms. They did not let Johna reserve any ocean view, only inside and balcony. Once those booked thru the cruise pay the full deposit they can select their rooms or they can take the luck of the draw and hope for a better room. I have selected my room and am on the Main floor.

We'd love an oceanview or a balcony room...but, we're gonna use that extra money on excursions. Maybe the upgrade fairy will sprinkle good luck dust on us!! :p

Still haven't made out plane ressies or applied for our passports. Both are on the to do list for the next month.

We have a balcony on deck 5 upper deck. I love my balconies. Flights are booked, hotel is booked, we are going to renew our passports on Saturday. Seems like everything is almost already done.

Just finalizing excursions and we will be ready to go:D

We reserved a balcony. We just have that long wait to see where they will put us. Kinda exciting wondering where we will be.

We have hotel reserved and passports. Last thing to do is reserve the flight. I hate flying so I am in no hurry, unless the price starts going way up. May ask my doctor in 2 months if he can give me something flight day or what he suggests. Funny if he says a few drinks ;)

Have a couple of mudslides before you get on board. Or put some Bailey and Kula in your coffee, no one will ever know! Bailey actualy taste real good in a vanila frosty!

Looks like this cruise is close to selling out. Not alot of cabins left....so much for hoping for a price decrease ;)

Ive been watching my spirit cruise in aug...I feel I got a great price..glad I booked it when I did...my category is sold out, and the cat I booked my dad at has gone up $160...I dont even bother looking at price decreases any more.....besides, Ive got several reductions on my jan dream cruise....so Im happy....

Hi everyone,

Can I be a step cruiser too? I have booked my cruise and plane flights already. We are on the 9th level with a balcony room. My husband and I have our passport too. So all we have to do is wait to book our excursions. Can not wait to start packing.

As the keeper of the cruise spreadsheet, I officially dub thee "Step Cruiser". :D:D LOL

So tell us all the info...who are you, where are you traveling from, where are you staying in Seattle (or when are you arriving), what excursions are you thinking about......

Hi happylady & everyone,

I am Brenda 47 and my husband Greg 49. We are from Louisiana. We are flying in a week early because Greg has 2 brothers who lives in Washington. So, we are going to visit with them and drive back to Seattle that morning. Really not should about the excursions, but thinking about a train ride and maybe a glacier. What is the best thing to do and idea or suggusting? How do you get all the past cruise to show up when you write something? I am new at this, you can tell.

Brenda

Brenda,

You can customize your signature to include all the extra stuff at the bottom of your post. At the top of this page click on the "Use CP" link. Once there, look under "Your Control Panel". You can add an avatar (mine is Sorcerer Apprentice Mickey) and edit your signature. You can also add a countdown ticker. Once you see the one that you like, go to that website and follow the instructions. After you've surfed around Cruise Critic, you'll have lots of ideas on different ways to personalize your signature. Have fun with it!

I am assuming that there is a casino on the Spirit. How much is it open? Usually you have to be so far out to sea before it opens, so with us being so close to land the entire trip, how does it work?

Thanks for the info.

Carrie

Good question! I'll post a question on the main Carnival thread hoping that some of the past cruisers will answer.

I am pretty sure Carnival will get just far enough away from the coast to be legal to open up the casino, they would lose wayyyyy to much money if they didn't:D.

Well went Saturday to renew passports. Apparently about a 2 week wait.

I can't believe how few cabins are left for this cruise, I really didn't think the first cruise out would be so popular. We actually wanted to go in June but DSIL had already booked this week so we joinned them.

Well it is Monday that means 1 more day closer to the long weekend and 1 day closer to cruising!!!

I am officially back! It took us 10.5 hours to get the the Canada border and yes we got selected again for the search, and to speak to customs and immgrations......Do not think they like you taking an animal into their country. Then 11 hours to drive home. The falss were alsome, we went on the "Maid of the Mist" which takes you right up to the falls and they spray you with all the mist, it was so cool! We actually bought a package tour, they tell you it is 4 hours but actually was 9:45 to 2:30. Lots of walking, but lots of info and very fun! A lot packed into one 3 days. The cat got to his new home, wonderful family and he will be spoiled terribly!

From what I have heard they are open most the time except when we are in post. Does Alaska allow gambling? Maybe that makes a difference? As Kim said, they want that money! And they always get some of mine...not a lot but some!
