hi all

i know i'm propagating the panic by posting this, but 2 or 3 crew members have been reported with some sort of flu on the serenade of the seas, currently in alaska.

as i am planning on catching a ride on that ship in 12 days, i want to know if anyone has heard of any plans to dock for cleaning.

would rather know before I fly across country.

sorry to be the one to bring it up and yes i know any flu could be severe or mild, that hand washing helps, etc...

Hi there,

Someone else posted links to articles about this on another thread, Here's the link to other thread w/ articles

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=983779

I figure w/ 1 documented case on SOS, they will be scrubbing down well and on extra allert which will make it safer for us than being on a ship where they may be more lax due to no cases yet

I figure we'll take airborne as a precaution ... more worried about the air on the plane.

Also guessing you might be kind of new here due to few posts? Do you know about the roll call threads? Come on over and say hi ... here's a link to the roll call thread where you can meet other people who will be cruising with you - me & my family area also going to be on SOS, 5/23 :D

Do you know about RCL's Meet & Mingle get togethers? Here's a link to some info:

And here's a li nk to sign up for Meet & Mingle ... last time I checked we had close to 40 people signed up:

thanks for all the links! i am sort of new to this. way to include us!

You're welcome :) I hope you will come on over and check out our roll call thread. There's some nice people there who you can get to know a little more - or a lot more if you want :p We met a couple on the boards prior to our last cruise, ended up being at the same assigned dinner table w/ them, and w/o knowing it we'd plan the best ever excursion that we got to enjoy w/ them ... we are still in touch. Others we stayed in touch for a while, and then there were those who we met and ran into here and there througout the cruise.

Ends up on our upcoming cruise, there's 4 other people who've also booked a whale watching trip w/ Teckk Outfitters in ISP that we'll be on, and a couple who booked the same helicopter tour in Juneau, but they are the time slot ahead of us ... we all booked w/o knowing the others had.

These boards are great for helping with planning all kinds of things :)

Anway, kind of hi-jacked this thread and I can be kind of chatty since I type as fast as I can talk! Better get back to chores.
