suzeqvhf Posted May 13, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 13, 2009 We end our Viking river cruise in the morning but our flight back to New York isn't until 6 PM that evening. Where is the best, safest place to leave our luggage while we spend one last day in Paris? The Gare du Nord train station seems to be the best bet, since we can catch the RER train to CDG airport from there. Has anybody used the lockers there? Or are there any other suggestions? agabbymama Posted May 14, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 14, 2009 We flew into Paris and only had the day there before flying on to Rome. So we took the Air France Bus to Gare de Lyon (train station) to store our luggage for the day. It wasn't easy finding the luggage storage area, and folks weren't too helpful, when I would ask in English where it was. We finally found it at the back of the station, down an escalator. Then we had to hoist our 44 lb bags onto a conveyor (like at the airport) to go through Security. There was an attendant there, but he didn't do anything other than watch your luggage go through. Then the instructions for the lockers was in French. Fortunately, there were two guys putting their luggage into one, and helped us find a big one that would hold all our luggage, and showed us how to use the coin operated system. It cost us 8.50 EUR for for about 4 hours. It is doable, and there really isn't any other alternative, just be forewarned that you may have a few glitches. Roll with the punches, and have a great trip!
