sassenach.girl Posted May 17, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 17, 2009 Hi folks, We're cruising on the Pacific Jewel from Sydney in August 2010 and will likely be in Sydney for 2 days prior to sailing. We woudl really like to see the ship come into the harbour from a hotel balcony. What would be some hotel suggestions that would have a good view of seeing her sail into Sydney? Thanks Kylie

Itachi Posted May 18, 2009 #4 Share Posted May 18, 2009 Am happy to pay whatever it takes, within reason of course :) You could perhaps try the Marriott i forget the other one...not the intercontinental.... shangri la? something like that or even the Four Seasons. They are in CQ so you will need to get a taxi/bus to Wharf 8. Although those buildings aren't as close as the Hyatt I worked in CQ and saw the dawn come and go many times from 2 different levels 15th floor and 34th floor. Just request a room that faces the water...
40/50 Posted May 22, 2009 #5 Share Posted May 22, 2009 Hi, We're sailing from Sydney in January on the Jewel and plan on taking some photos from the pylon lookout at the harbour bridge - see http://www.pylonlookout.com.au for details. The other thing we're planning is a Centrepoint tower trip. You can do either a tower walk outside (can't take your own camera out there) or even just a trip up to the lookout is always worthwhile - http://www.sydneytower.com.au Obviously they may be closed if the ship comes in early morning but both are certainly worth a look to view the gorgeous harbour and city and you might catch the ship in port too!
