RCI in bid to extend Rhapsody season

Thanks for the link.

Suprisingly, Royal Caribbean cruises from Australia can even be cheaper than P&O cruises, and are 4 star compared to 3 star, and include many of the extras for free (that are otherwise charged onboard P&O).

I have actually found that it is cheaper for cruise for New Years Eve on Royal Caribbean than onboard Pacific Dawn or Pacific Jewel.

AND....the Royal Caribbean cruise is an extra 5 nights too and also covers Christmas.

There are some pretty good cruise specials at the moment on their Australian website...

http://www.royalcaribbean.com.au

18 night Circumnavigation of Australia cruise (Aus & NZ ports) - from $2084.00 per person

10 night Australia & Great Barrier Reef cruise - from $1280.00 per person.

Yes, onboard costs are in US Dollars but US prices are cheaper to allow for the exchange rate. (Etc. Beer $3.50 USD converts today to $4.68 AUS...reasonable price).

Worth having a look into

Good to get some competition going here in Australian waters!!

do you have to add tips or any thing to that beer price?

Not sure if the price list I have is inclusive of the 15% tip or not.

But if it is inclusive of the 15% tip, the drink cost is $3.50 USD / $4.54 AUS.

If it is not inclusive, drink cost of $3.50 USD plus 15% tip, is $4.03 USD / $5.21 AUD.

(A $0.67 AUD difference).

This is what I've gathered from the drink menu and 15% gratuity on drink purchases. Depending on the cruise, the drinks may either already include the 15% tipping or it may need to be added on top of drink purchase.

Hope this helps :)

Drink prices are plus 15%:(.

Generally speaking yes.

But have read on the Royal Caribbean Boards that depending on the cruise, it is sometimes automatically added in the price of the drink.

Generally though, the 15% is on top.

P.S. Liz, I've noticed you've cruised twice on Rhapsody. Would love to read any reviews / photos you may have :)
