When will booking start for Freedom of Seas

Anyone know when the booking will start for Freedom of the Seas?

 

When will she begin service?

Someone on another board said she will be sailing in February of 2006. Not too sure though.

I heard that booking starts in April 2005.

Just off the AOS. At the repeat cruisers party the captain announced that RCI will begin taking bookings for the Freedom on February 26,2005 for Crown and Anchor members only. This is the first time RCI has done this. The special booking period for C&A members will last for 2 weeks. After that it will open to everyone. They expect to sail in May of 2006 out of Miami. They will do the Eastern and Western routes. We were also told that they expect the inaugaral sailing to sell out in a couple hours on the first day (Feb. 26th). Hope this helps!

Anyone know which route will be first? I wish they would do a longer (Circle the Caribbean ) tour instead of the 7 day cruises. With such a large ship, you really need more days.

In lowering the 443-ton block into the drydock, Royal Caribbean used the start of construction to announce the name of the new ship -- Freedom of the Seas -- and comment on the thinking behind the name. Throughout preconstruction, the ship has been called Ultra Voyager.

Royal Caribbean's newest ship again elevates cruise-ship design and innovation to new levels. Freedom of the Seas builds on the line's popular Voyager-class ships, so once breakthrough, now signature, elements such as the Royal Promenade, rock-climbing wall and ice-skating rink are standard on Freedom of the Seas. The company will reveal this ship's major new features as she takes shape in drydock.

 

One feature the company will share now, in keeping with its "freedom" theme, is the great freedom of space planned for the new ship. Freedom of the Seas will have some of the largest guest staterooms and the most spacious balconies in the industry. One reason for the roominess? Freedom of the Seas will have full-size, yet space-saving, flat screen TVs in 100 percent of the guest staterooms and public areas.

I hate to ask a stupid question, but would the best way to be included in the early bookings to book directly with Royal Carribean the day sales open or to have a travel agent prepared to book for you that day?
