Pre cruise packages

Has anyone any experience of the De Vere Grand Harbour pre cruise package? It looks OK on their site but tripadviser reviews are not great. Would we be better just staying at any hotel & parking at the big car park near the docks? We quite fancied all the advertised extras at De Vere but dont want to be ripped off

Didn't check the price of this deal, but I would guess that rip- off would be the word. Personally I do not want a six course dinner (dress casual, tie optional) and a lunch next day prior to taking a cruise. And the 3.15 check- in would not be my choice either, we like to board as early as possible and try to unpack before boat drill.

Our ideal pre cruise stay is a comfortable hotel with cruise parking in the price where we can have a quiet dinner and a transfer to the ship around mid day. Then, lunch aboard, have a good explore if we are new to the ship and then unpack. The rest of the evening is then our own.

David.
