First trip to Alaska this Saturday. Can anyone tell me ATM locations for Icy Straight Point

Skagway

Juneau

Thanks

They have them aboard the ship....but would suggest going to desk as they charge a surcharge onboard for the ATM'S (Guess where they are...the casino!)

Icy Strait Point - Hoonah there is one atTideland Tackle and gift shop.

You would have to take the bus or walk if you're able. It's a little over a mile to town. But Tideland Tackle has a ATM and its BRAND NEW!!! yea......! The Old bank in Hoonah also has a ATM and this is located very near the bus stop.

We live in Florida and our bank is Wachovia which just recently merged with Wells Fargo. We checked with our bank and there are Wells Fargo atm's in just about every port and usually close to the pier.

Have a great trip!!

Will there be ATMs in the port towns such as Skagway, Ketchikan? Would it be better to use cash or credit cards with the excursion folks and vendors in these towns?

It depends who you are using. Many of the independents that we are using want cash only. My advice would be use CC when you can, but check with your tour people that you have booked with if they take cash only.

Yes, these atm's are in Juneau, Skagway, Sitka, Ketchikan, all the ports that we are visiting. So I don't know about any others

I have never tried this but, I am from Canada can I use the ATM to get US funds if I don't have a US bank account.

Yes you can use your debit card to get US cash (in Alaska the ATM machines will only have US $) Your bank will apply an exchange rate just like your credit card company does.

One of the "last good reasons to get Travel Checks" is for cruising. You can cash them at the front desk (no fee) and have cash..........until you go to the casino.:p
