4_THE_HALIBUT Posted May 23, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 23, 2009 Even though I hand-selected an obstructed view room on the July 12 Star, I did mark "available for upgrade". Has anyone ever done likewise and got an upgrade? I see a couple of posts where others booked lower category guarantees for the same sailing and have already been assigned a higher category than me! I was hoping for an upgrade, but wanted to make sure I was still happy with what I originally selected in the even it did not happen.

If you hand selected your stateroom for it's location, keep in mind that all upgrades are not good upgrades. Since you have your booking marked 'available for upgrade' there is still a chance you could see a higher category appear on your personalizer. But keep in mind, since you marked your cabin this way, if you don't like where the upgrade puts you, they may have already assigned your first choice to someone else should an upgrade become available, and then you are out of luck. Sometimes it's better to mark your booking as 'will not accept an upgrade' if you care where your stateroom is located. Best of luck!
