david2673 Posted December 11, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2004 I have just booked the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel for 2 night prior to our Feb 5th cruise on the QM2. Any info (good or bad) on this property would be greatly appreciated. As well any info on transport to Port Everglades would be helpful. Thank you in advance David
Bequia Posted December 11, 2004 #2 Share Posted December 11, 2004 Great choice Dave. Since this hotel opened earlier this year its turned its been very popular with the locals and visitors. Its a shame Vegas style gambling is not permitted in Florida, if it were you wouldn't know if you were in Vegas or Hollywood. Tropical lagoon with the waterslide is a lot of fun. As with any Hard Rock, the music memorabilia brings back a lot of memories. The multi media center is spectacular as well. They are almost finished building an attached mall with shops and restaurants. That should be fully open by the time you arrive. This hotel rocks 24 hours a day. (pun intended) Not sure if the hotel has a shuttle or not. The distance to the port is about 10-15 minutes. Taxis are abundant. A reliable limo service is Larrys Limo http://www.larryslimo.com/. ;)
dirienzo Posted December 11, 2004 #3 Share Posted December 11, 2004 We stayed there last month. The best part was the pool area-it was wonderful. The rooms were also very nice and comfortable. When we were there the nightclub was closed down due to some dispute, and there was no other entertainment as far as music and dancing. My only real complaint was that they kept the place freezing, and I had to wear my coat . I would stay here again, especially for the pool area. Ask for a room overlooking the pool, otherwise you will be overlooking parking and the highway. Also, keep checking prices by calling(not on-line). Our room started out as $199/nt.By the time we stayed, it had dropped 2ce to a final price of $99, even though the online price still said $199. david2673 Posted December 11, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted December 11, 2004 Thank you both for the info. After reading your posts I am that much more excited to get to Florida. And I will try phoning the hotel for a better rate. I'm booked at $137 gov't rate. Thanks again David
