yorkshire lad 7 Posted May 25, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 25, 2009 Our cruise is approaching fast and we are really looking forward to it. Could anyone give us some advise on the theme nights. We have three, black & white, tropical and 60's & 70's. Are costumes available onboard or is it better to take your own. Do most people join in and dress up or is it the norm to just go along as you are ? Many thanks to LIBRALASS41 for the tip about the clothes rail it makes it so much easier to pack. Beckyfaye-2008 Posted May 25, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 25, 2009 Black & White night is one of the Formal nights, and I would say the majority who dress for Formal, also dress for Black & White, some men wearing a white tux jacket instead of a black one, also some wearing black shirts instead of white. For me its the most formal night of the cruise. The ladies on this and the other Formal Night, which is Captains Gala Dinner, always look lovely dressed in their best refinery.Tropical night is about the most adhered to, of the theme nights, with most men wearing a very colourful shirt, the flower garlands are normally found at your place setting in the main dining room, at evening meal. 60/70s night is normally a hit and miss affair re dress, the majority wearing whatever the dress code is for the evening:)
supered Posted May 27, 2009 #3 Share Posted May 27, 2009 On our recent Oceana cruise a lot of people dressed up for 60s/70s night. In fact some costumes were very good! It really only matters if you are going to the 60s/70s night in Le Club. The majority were wearing the dress code of the day (smart casual).
