I see that you are from Myrtle Beach SC & IMHO you know what a beach is supposed to be.

Banister Isle is a man made beach with no real swiming area to speak of. Great for laying in the sun which you can do at home.

We are from FL & know what a beach is & this is not a real beach.

Take a snorkel trip or go as an observer & have a local lunch on Caye Caulker with Coral Breeze. We were with them last week while on the Legend & it was a super time.

Good luck !

Hi, Just got back from a wonderful cruise on Carnival Truimph. We booked the excursion through the ship and Bannister Cay was beautiful. The water was great clear and warm, lots of fish around the dock there. Tons of shells and star fish. I visit Hilton Head Island every summer and stay on the beach and Bannister Cay is just as nice and beautiful. What was good is that we went right from the ship to the island about a 15min ride. We recieved a free drink and that was the only drawback was that drinks run about $8-10. Lunch menu was cheaper than the drinks it was a very relaxing few hours on a tropical Island......

Just back (was there 5/28). 3 ships in port, way too many people on Bannister, way too little shade, tiny beach area for the size of the place, food good but expensive. Glad we went, but won't repeat...

Had to stay for the set time amount which was too short. We took the boat right from the ship to the island.

If we count this excursion out we don't know what to do in Belize. It's one of the hottest islands. We burn even with strong sunblock and can't spend 3-4 hours on an unshaded beach.
