Magen's Bay or Emerald?

Will be my first time to St. Thomas coming up in September. At first all I heard was about Magen's Bay, but reading this board there seems to be alot of sentiment to Emerald Bay. Any thoughts? It will just be 2 of us. Looking nice calm water, maybe a little shade, easy to get back to the ship, place for lunch.

Thanks

Which ever one you pick go the beach straight from the ship. Beat the rush. Shop or do whatever later in the day. Not been to Emerald but Megans Bay is a must each time we are in St. Thomas.

Both are nice, both have food/drink (at Magens its at the concession area - pizza, sandwiches, and the like; at Emerald there are a few restaurant options on the beach or just a short walk down the beach), both usually have very calm water, both have restrooms, both have chairs. Check out a beach guide for St. Thomas for more information and photos: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=st.+thomas+beach+guide&fr=yfp-t-501&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8.
