lovestwocruise Posted June 10, 2009 #301 Share Posted June 10, 2009 Thanks again. Did you see anyone wearing jeans in the dining room? Trying to pack light but it is very hard!
nolaAlive Posted June 10, 2009 Author #302 Share Posted June 10, 2009 Thanks again. Did you see anyone wearing jeans in the dining room? Trying to pack light but it is very hard! I wore jeans every night except for the "elegant" nights and jeans would have worked then, also. Nobody cares, except for the fashion police on CC. ;) My GF wore dresses every night, as I recall, but she pretty much always does. Alaska itself is very casual, and you will see more jeans than suits in fine restaurants. In fact, you might be hard pressed to find a suit in a restaurant. nolaAlive Posted June 11, 2009 Author #303 Share Posted June 11, 2009 Summarizing some of the differences in food for Alaska... There was a different, "special" fish each night - not listed on the menu, but listed in the Capers: Wed: Cajun Seared Salmon Thu: Fresh Halibut Meuniere Fri: Butter Poached Salmon (shown with a couple of bites of flat iron steak) Sat: Steamed Rockfish {we ate at a Salmon Bake instead} Sun: Bacon Wrapped Cod
nolaAlive Posted June 11, 2009 Author #304 Share Posted June 11, 2009 Mon: Baked Salmon We did not try Tues:Alaska Sole Filet All of the ones were tried were tasty and good. No losers.
