shakerlady Posted May 28, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2009 Sailing on Enchantment on June 08. Looking for some sort of boat/snorkel trip in either port. Should we book one of RCL's offerings or does someone have experience with local outfits that we could book ourselves? Party of 8, some non-snorkelers. Thanks for any info! MellieInWI Posted May 28, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 28, 2009 One option in Cozumel - Take a taxi to Chaukanaab National Park (spelling might be off). You can rent a snorkel/mask/fins right on the beach for a nominal amount ($5?) and walk right into the ocean and snorkel. Plus, if you've never snorkeled before, the people who rent them are generally pretty comfortable getting into the water to show you how - at least they did with one member of our group. Plus, if anyone doesn't want to snorkel, you can sit on beach chairs and be brought wonderful drinks. The taxi was probably $10 total and then you pay a national park entrance fee. There are also huts that serve food and you can walk down to walk and watch the people who do the Dolphin Discovery excursion - (another amazing one!). In Belize the snorkeling is supposed to be amazing. We were there a few weeks ago and opted to do the cave tubing with Major Tom and were absolutely not disappointed. For his information, check out the ports section - he gets great reviews.

travelntreats Posted May 29, 2009 #4 Share Posted May 29, 2009 Some good sugestions being offered and I aggree with, but if you will go visit the ports of call boards to your specific ports in question, you will get alot of info there regarding private tour operators that will be less expensive and many times offer a more personal and smaller capacity tour. vppro Posted May 29, 2009 #5 Share Posted May 29, 2009 Definitely do the cave tubing in Belize. We did it as a family 3 years ago and we still talk about it.
