destiny1976 Posted May 29, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 29, 2009 I will be on a Princess cruise leaving from Civitavecchia on June 21st, a Sunday, at 6PM. I figure a lot of my shipmates would be taking the train from Rome as well, not to mention the locals. Is it recommended to buy the train tickets at least a day prior or it's ok to buy it on the day of? And, what's the latest train recommended for a not-so-rushed arrival at the pier so we would still embark on time? Help is greatly appreciated!! :)

If you intend to go on one of the few IC+ or IC trains that stop in Civitavecchia, then buy ahead of time as those are reserved seats. I would probably leave Rome before noon (just me). However, I would make 1-1:30PM the latest. Remember, you must be onboard 2 hours prior to departure. Varies by cruise line - check yours.
