Sea Trek and Eye Glasses?

Hollyday

I have been considering this excursion as well and the operators that I have looked at say that glasses are fine.

The blurb on the Sea Trek Cayman Islands site says:

  • NO swimming skills are needed.
  • Your hair WILL NOT get wet!
  • Wear your prescription glasses.
  • Full on-site changing facilities & showers

Post back and tell us how you liked it! We are wavering between this excursion or mini-subs at the minute...

Does anyone have any information on Sea Trek? We're sailing in August and this looks interesting. http://www.seatrekcayman.com/index.html What I would really like to know is, can I wear my eye glasses while wearing the helmet?

All help is appreciated. :)

We've done it in both Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Bother excursions were about the same, but I think there was more to see underwater in Cozumel, lots more marine life as well as an old aircraft that has been sunk at the Sea Trek dive site. IN Cozumel the Sea Trek dive site is right off the shore, no boat required In Grand Cayman we took a pontoon boat ride out to the dive site.

There is a 30 minute safety briefing, then you are escorted to the ladder and guided down into the water. As soon as your shoulders touch the water, they will place the helment over your head and it will rest on your shoulders. The underwater part of the excursion lasts about 30 minutes and you are walking around on the ocean bottom. Wear water shoes for your comfort.

Sorry you couldn't see the vido, I didn't realize people couldn't see it without a password. I'm glad you enjoyed the excursion. We have done the Sea Trek excursion multiple times in Cozumel and Grand Cayman. It's one of our favorite things to do on a cruise.
