cruisebore Posted June 1, 2009 #4 Share Posted June 1, 2009 Hi Cruisebore,Different person same question. We vist St Lucia, St Kitts, Antigua and obviously Barbados. My husband and our 2 sons are keen golfers and would like a game or 2 if possible can you or other members recommend which islands and where? Also what are the unmissable excursions? Hi Saidia St Lucia A respectable course at http://www.golfworldmap.com/caribbean/stlucia/stlucia/index.html The Pitons at the south of the islands are worth a visit, a long drive better do half the trip by catamaran. Marigot Bay where they filmed Dr Doolittle is delightful. Rodney Bay dependant on the number of ships in port will be wall to wall sunbathers. St Kitts Another decent if very flat course is http://www.golfworldmap.com/caribbean/stkittsandnevis/royalstkitts/index.html. A beach is adjacent to the course but gets busy, better a short cab ride to South Friars Bay. The fort at Brimstone hill will pass away a few hours, better to go first thing when it is cooler. Antigua. Not played golf here. Many go to Nelsons Dockyard at English harbour. I was a little disappointed. WE now head of for lunch to http://www.wheretostay.com/caribbean/antigua_and_barbuda/property-17-overview-Long_Bay_Hotel.html Delightful spot shallow waters out to the reef, sun loungers free if having a meal. cruisebore Posted June 1, 2009 #6 Share Posted June 1, 2009 We are visiting BARBADOS,ARUBA,TORTOLA,ST MAARTEN,ST KITTS,ST LUCIA,GRENADA thanks:D Aruba Shopping in port OK. Palm beach is good beach and easily accessible using the local bus. Terminus opposite the port. Tortola Take a local taxi tour over Sage mountain, look in at the observatory and go on to Long Bay or Brewers Bay. Cane Garden Bay pretty, but very busy. Have a beer in Pussers Bar in Road Town. St Maarten Water taxi from the pier into town $6 all day ticket Best prices for shopping in the Caribbean. Take a taxi to Marigot on the French side. Orient Bay, don't go if easily offended as this is a clothes optional beach. Town beach is OK. Grenada Very pretty island, take a taxi to the waterfalls and smell the spices. Beware Grand Anse beach very busy and you will be pestered by hawkers. A lovely quiet beach is Mourne Rouge. Regards Cb
